Ball mill grinding balls filling rate

Grinding balls filling rate  is the grinding balls percentage of the ball mill volume. Ball load is lower than 200-250cm of the ball mill bearing,25-40% of ball mill volume. In a certain extent,ball mill production capacity will improve along with the grinding balls amount.But should not above the filling rate limit.  If above the filling rate limit, the prodction capacity will reduce.

Ball loading is too little, the efficiency is low ,this is easy to understand.  But if the balls are too much, why influence the ball mill efficiency?

The following is the explaination:

When the balls running in the ball mill. First is ball throwing area.When the ballmillrotating,The ball mill throw the outside layers balls to a certain height.

Second, The strongest impact balls falling point, also strongest grinding area.

Thrid point, Friction area,When ball mill rotating, the ball mill will bring the balls from low place to high place,because balls running itself, between the balls to balls, balls to the liner friction function, when use the ladder liner, the friction function is more strong ,this area is the more effective area for fine grinding.

Fourth point , This area are the inside layer balls. These balls rotating near itself, the grinding function is very little, when the balls loas above the filling rate rate, this range will expand too, so the grinding function reduce, so the efficiency lower. And increase the power consumption, this is one explaination.

Second explaination:  during the ball mill grinding , also has classify usage. When the balls are too much, influence the classify usage, when the balls load and the ball mill rotary speed is matched with each other, the classify usage is good, then increase the ball mill efficiency.
