(1) Large ball mill adopt low speed synchronous motor drive the ball mill pinion gear directly. The pinion gear drive the girth gear rotating .The advantage is high driving efficiency,small space,easy to maintain,etc. But the synchronous motor is high price, and need current direct-current power supply.

(2) asynchronous dynamo gearbox driving: Large ,mdeium ball mill adopt asynchronous drnamo dricing, gear and the gearbox drive the pinion,girth gear to drive the ball mill.the advantage is the asynchronous dynamo low price, but use one more set of large gearbox.

(3) asynchronous dynamo V-belt driving, small ball mill adopt asynchronous dynamo from the V-belt to drive the pinion gear, girth gear to drive the ball mill. But it is low driving efficiency, large floor space, and complex to maintain.

The ball mill at abroad has the following driving types:
(1) Motor driving through the pinion and the girth gear
(2) Center driving, the morot drive the quill shaft extend part through the gearbox.
(3) The motor rotor install on the shell or the quill shaft extend part, and stator fix on the foundation, for the “ no gear driving”. And adopt the super-low speed synchro motor, the rotary speed is the same with the ball mill rotary speed, suitable for the driving power more than 7500KW.
